4 Tips to Internet Marketing if You are New!

This is just a basic high level overview of getting started with internet marketing. Countless people are turning to the web everyday as a means of making money. There are a lot of opportunities to be had for those willing to reach for them. But while you may have the motivation to build an internet marketing company or just get started with affiliate marketing, you may not have the knowledge required. It can be a pretty daunting task, starting your business but you can do it.

You may think starting an internet business is easier, but you would actually be wrong. Affiliate marketing can be much easier to get started in this business. You still have to put in a lot of time and effort, and even some money. The real advantage of starting an online business is that you do not require thousands of dollars to do it, and if you really work at it you can only spend a few dollars a month. The other benefit is that once it is set up and making money, it is fairly easy to manage.

The reason most people do not do this is because they simply can not get over that initial hurdle. It takes a long time and a lot of dedication to make money, and people just give up or poke at it a little and never really do any real work.

If you are ready and willing to put in the effort, then these tips should give you a place to start.

1: Patience. I really can not emphasize this enough and even though I have already mentioned it, it deserves it’s own tip. If you are looking to start an internet marketing company or even start with affiliate marketing, you need to understand that it is not some magical entity that will make you tons of cash overnight. You will not get rich quick I am sorry to say so beware do be wary of the hype. It is an actual business and it will require a lot of time and hard work before you start seeing any returns.

2: Figuring out a niche. With the warning out of the way, here is a real tip to help you get started. Finding a niche, basically finding what you want to specialize in. Every company has their product, what is yours? Odds are that since you are looking into internet marketing, you will want to sell your services in helping other people market their business or a good way to get in is through affiliate marketing. If that is not the case, then look around to see what kind of service or product you do want to offer.

3: Build your website. Once you have figured out what you plan to sell, you need to set up a website. This can all be done freely (except for the domain name) if you are willing to put in the work. However if you have some money to spare and do not feel like bothering with this, you can hire professionals to build your website for you.

4: Marketing. Once you have the website of your internet marketing company set up, you need to market yourself. As I often say, you can have the best business in the world but if nobody knows it exists, you will not make any money. This can be a rather lengthy procedure and just like with website building you can outsource it if you want or you can do it all yourself. Marketing will be the life blood of your internet business and it takes some time to build it.

These tips should give you an idea of where to start, but ultimately you will have to do a lot more research to learn details in order to effectively run your internet business.

4 Magic Words that Can Make You Money

I know I preach about picking something and staying focused on that something until you make it a success, but there are exceptions, and this is a big one. There are certain products you should probably grab whenever you see them. These are “how to” products on marketing techniques that contain three little words that can be a goldmine for you – “Step by step.”

4 Magic Words that Can Make You Money

The reason I love these is because for a very cheap price – usually less than $40 and sometimes only $10 – you get a complete step by step system on how to do something.

You might buy 2 or 3 of these a week. Then when you’ve got time, go through each one. Read the PDF’s and watch the videos.

Decide if you think the technique is something you can apply to your business. If it is, try it out. You might set aside one afternoon each week to try a new step by step technique.

Then wait and see what happens. Sometimes you see results right away and other times it takes a while, depending on what the technique might be.

You’re watching to see if it works. For example, if it’s a technique on how to get traffic then you’re watching to see if: You get traffic and if that traffic converts.

Once you know it works, you apply the fourth magic word – Outsourcing.

That’s right – you give your “how to” product to your outsourcer, along with any notes you’ve made when you implemented it yourself, and have them do it for you.

The first day they might send you a few emails with questions, but it won’t take you much time to answer them.

Then you just let them run with it and watch your numbers. Make sure you’re making more from results of the system than you’re paying the outsourcer and you’re good to go.

One of the best things about “step by step” products is they’re written for the average person, not a rocket scientist marketer. They have to be, or else the product creator would get a million questions. This makes it super easy to hand it off to another person to do the actual work for you. As long as the technique results in more income than outlay, it’s a winner.

And all you invested was the initial price of the ‘how to’ program, along with an afternoon to try it out for yourself.

To give an example: Let’s say you pick up 5 new ‘how to get traffic’ systems. 4 of them work well, so you outsource those and forget about the fifth one.

The new traffic results in X amount of new subscribers and X amount of new sales. Maybe it’s 1,000 new subscribers a month, and $1,500 in sales the first month, $500 the second month on those 1,000 subscribers.

So as long as you’re paying your outsourcer less than $2,000 a month (which is easy to do) you’re in profit.

This is a great way to add extra income to your existing business without a lot of time and effort on your part.

So remember to use these 4 magic words – “Step by step” and “Outsourcing.”

And one more thing: If you have a fistful of resell products sitting on your hard drive, take a look at those. You never know what step by step technique you’re going to find that you can use to help build your business through outsourcing.

Email Marketing is Still #1

The definition of email marketing is: The promotion of products or services via email.

Email marketing is one of the many ways available for an online business person to get traffic to their site. It is also one of the most effective ways to stay in touch with your customers.

By using this method, you will be able to increase your exposure with the people who visit your website. Most people will only visit your website once and never come back. This allows you to maintain some type of contact with them to build a “relationship” with them.

The subject of your emails should be short and sweet. You want the subject line to catch their eye and pique their curiosity so they open your email. One of the best ways to do this is to ask a question.

Some email services and programs will not display the entire subject line if it is too long. Keep this in mind when writing your subject line. Your readers will only scan the subject lines when they log into their email account, if your subject does not appeal to them and sound interesting they will delete your email without even opening it.

You no doubt have many ways to promote your product or service and some may seem more important than others but, in reality, they are all bringing you in some form of traffic and you are making sales. This leg of your promotional campaign is equally important.

Never let up on your email campaign. Keep information as up-to-date as possible and make changes when needed. It is easy to fall into complacency when you think you have gotten everything out of your email campaign but if you treat it this way you could be losing customers hand over fist.

Make the emails you send look like your site. People will begin to associate a type of brand awareness with your emails if you have your product or service logo or other distinguishing characteristics, like the same colors you have on your site.

Customers will more likely buy from someone they know. With repeated exposure to you and your company through your campaign, they will begin to feel as if they have a relationship with you and when they need to buy, they will come to you first.

Obviously, the ultimate goal here is to make money by selling your product or service. Therefore, you should try to tailor each message to that end. Each message should be interesting and informative. Try to keep in mind how your customers think and what kind of information they would be interested in receiving from you.

Finding the right combination of what works could take some trial and error. To find what works and what doesn’t, make small changes to the wording or the graphics that you use so you ultimately end up with the “perfect” message for your product or service. Remember to never spam though.

A side note is sometimes the images you want to use will not display in your message. One way around this is to use descriptive alt tags for them and make sure you use a nice easily readable font for the most important information.

4 Tips for Basic Internet Marketing, Don’t Give Up!

The internet can still be a mystery to some people. Sure everyone knows about it and has a basic understanding, but many concepts can still prove elusive for most people when it comes to internet marketing. One such concept being the ability to make money on the internet. Most people still can not understand how this is possible, or worse, they think it is exceptionally easy but we no it isn’t easy. With that said it isn’t difficult either. It just takes time and effort and generally a little capital.

The truth is, internet marketing today is not impossible nor is it all that easy. While you can certainly make money online, it takes a long time and a lot of hard work and dedication on your part in order to succeed. You can NEVER give up. You have to always remember, if you plan on starting your own online business or affiliate marketing business, that it is still a business and you must treat it as such. All the things you would do if you went and opened a department store, you still have to do most of those things with an internet based business. The nice thing is you can do it from your kitchen tale if you wish.

To help you make your online business grow to be successful here are some basic tips. Again this is just high level tips but must have basics to be successful.

1: Be sure you are ready. I can not stress this enough, but way too many people go into this all hyped up and with misconceptions. This is not some easy scheme to get quick cash or get rich quick and it will require a lot of work and it can take months for you to see any return. You MUST be patience. If you accept these facts and are still willing to deal with internet marketing today, then you are one step closer to success. Mental positive attitude is key.

2: Set up a schedule. Like with any business, you need a set schedule. While the nice thing about owning your own online business is that you can work when you want, where you want, you still do need some structure. So set up a plan for when you will work and how long you will work each day, and then stick to it. Many people will poke at their business every week or two and then complain it is not working. You need to work it almost every single day.

3: Pick a niche. Once you have a dedicated work schedule, you need to decide what exactly you are going to be working on. Figuring out what kind of product you are going to sell is an important step. Is it a service or a physical product or affiliate product? Is it extremely mainstream and sells well, thus having a lot of competition? Or is it more obscure? You need to get the right mix of obscurity so you do not have overwhelming competition, but also popularity so you can still make money. I know this is easier said than done.

4: Market your business. Once you have your niche, then you need to start marketing it. This is the single hardest, and most time consuming process. But it is also the life blood of your business. Until people are consistently visiting your website, until it is ranked highly on Google, until you are making money, it will seem like a lot of hard work for nothing. But keep at it.

Internet marketing today can be quite competitive and it can be hard knowing what to do or where to start. That coupled with the fact that you will be doing a lot of work without ever seeing a penny for a long time means many people fail. But if you do your research and keep your head held high and on straight, you can be just as successful as all those big time gurus.

Is Your Advertising Effective or Not!

How do you know whether your advertising is effective or not? The answer is to track advertising response for each ad you run.

Whether you operate a retail store, a service business, affiliate marketing, a mail order operation, or an Internet marketing business, you can measure the effectiveness of your advertising.

1. Which Publications Produce Profits?

When new customers phone or visit you, ask how they found out about you. They might say they found you through the internet, mail ad or your newspaper ad etc.

Record the responses and resulting sales from each ad. Then, analyze whether each particular advertisement is producing the desired results.

If an advertisement consistently produces profits for you, keep running it. On the other hand, if an ad consistently performs poorly or produces a loss, discontinue it.

In mail order for an example, you can key each ad so that you can measure the resulting sales from each publication.

You could add “Dept. A” to your name or address in the ad to indicate the July issue of a particular magazine. Key it as “Dept. B” for the August issue of the same magazine. “Dept. C” could indicate the July issue of a different magazine you advertise in.

Thus, as orders come in, you can track the response and sales made from each advertisement. From that information, you can easily determine the profitability of your ad in each publication.

2. Which Ads Produce Profits?

Not only can ad tracking show you which publications are profitable to advertise in, but it will also help you measure the effectiveness of the ads themselves.

If you change your ad, and the results for the new ad are consistently better or worse, you can take the appropriate action; either continue or discontinue the advertisement.

Change only one element in an ad at a time.

For example, if you decide to change the price, don’t change the headline. Otherwise, you won’t know if the difference in results was due to the changed price or the changed headline. For greater certainty, change only one thing at a time when testing your ads.

On the Internet, you can use tracking software and services that will aid you to determine the source of your sales and the effectiveness of your advertising, article writing, and other activities.

Whether you operate a retail store, a service business, affiliate marketing, a mail order operation, or an Internet marketing business, use ad tracking for increased profits.

Internet Marketing is Financial Independence

The best advice for Internet marketing is to never lose sight of what you are really after, financial independence. Making your online business a success and being able to get out from under the hassle of living paycheck to paycheck is what is important here.

So, the best advice for Internet marketing is to stay focused on what you need to learn and never give up. I also don’t recommend jumping from program to new program. Do a little research and find something legitimate and a program that has some roots to it and stick with it. It’s fine to not have all your eggs in one basket so multiple streams of income is a way to go. They say that most people give up and go back to their “normal” way of life just before they “make it” and become a success online. Don’t let this happen to you.

A couple of years ago Google came out with the Panda update and messed with a lot of people’s bottom lines. Changing their algorithms meant that everyone needed to learn new ways of doing things and a lot of people lost a lot of money in the process.

Now Google has done it again with another update called the Penguin 2019. It remains to be seen what is in store for us this time.

But this is what I mean, you need to keep learning all of the time to continue to be a successful business owner. No one can just put up a website and become a success.

There are so many things to learn, none of which are difficult, but most do take some time to master.

Keyword research for one. Keyword research is a tedious task that needs to be done often to keep up with how searchers are searching for products they need and want.

Search engine optimization is another. After your keyword research you need to optimize your website around those keywords by creating content for your website that will make those searchers interested in what you have to say.

If you can establish yourself as an expert in your niche then you will get the bulk of the traffic and the bulk of the sales because people will trust you.

Back linking is still another. Posting content on others sites with links back to your own is a great way to increase traffic and hopefully, sales. You can do this with forum posts, posting comments on others blogs, or by putting up a banner ad on someone else’s site, with their permission of course.

Just make sure that what you post is not any kind of spam and that the places you choose to post are relevant to your niche. If you spam, you will get caught and booted off of the search engines altogether.

That is no way to run a successful business.

All of this is how you get to be the authority in your niche. But, you must remember that things can change in a heartbeat so you must keep up with those changes or be left behind.

Keep learning, everyday. This is the best advice for Internet marketing that I can give you. Also promote your business opportunity everyday or almost everyday. The more you know the quicker you can respond to the changes that are inevitable. Nothing ever stays the same, especially on the Internet.

__ Do you get to the point right away? Do not tell them about the last four hours you spent watching television or mowing the lawn unless it’s pertinent to the story.

__ Are you telling a story? Ideally you should tell an interesting story in every email you send to increase your open rates.

__ WIIFT… What’s in it for them? Don’t just tell them how great your product is. Tell them what they get for taking the action you’re promoting.

__ “So what?” Read the email as if you were the recipient, and see if they would ask, “So what?” You want to fascinate and excite them to click that link.

__ Is your writing boring? Uh-oh. Not talking about what’s in it for them, or writing “so what” emails are leading causes of massive email boredom.

__ Are you using action verbs? Contrast these two sentences to see the importance of using action verbs: 1. The cat seems healthy. 2. The cat raced across the yard and dove into the bushes chasing the terrified ground squirrel. Which one keeps the reader awake and reading?

__ Is your email just long enough to get them to click the link, and no longer? You’d be surprised how many marketers talk themselves out of getting that link clicked by rambling too much.

__ Is the formatting super easy to read? Or is it all one long indistinguishable paragraph?

__ Have you read it through and cut out all the fat? Seriously. Get to the point. Now.

__ Have you established credibility? Give them a good, honest, believable and credible reason why this is THE product they should buy.

__ Are you using bullet points? If not, are you crazy? Bullet points are your best sales tool in an email or a sales letter.

__ Have you given them a reason to respond right now? Preferably one that doesn’t sound cheesy?

__ Have you included your call to action? Don’t assume they know what to do next.

Use this checklist on your next 5 emails, and compare the results with your last 5 emails. You should see a significant bump in conversions.

3 Tactics Affiliate Marketers Need

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication. There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” even though everyone likes free stuff because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the spam folder before anyone gets to reads them. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not inquire more about your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end up maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do. Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving!

How You Can Earn My Trust and Sell to Me

Let me ask you a question: Are you on a certain marketer’s email list? You know the one – he sends out an email every day or two telling you to go check out “X” product because it’s new, revolutionary, exciting and the most amazing thing ever? Yeah, that guy. I’m on his list, too.

How You Can Earn My Trust and Sell to Me

In fact, I’m on the list of a couple of dozen marketers who fit that description. And the fact is, I seldom open their emails anymore, much less buy their recommendations. And I bet you’re the same way.

So who do you buy from? The marketers you trust, right? Me too.

And here’s who I trust the most: The marketer who actually USES the product they promote to me, and then records a video of them using it, or writes an HONEST review of it.

It’s so simple. It’s so easy. And yet 99% of marketers never do these things.

You want to promote a product to your list. You get the product – maybe you buy it, maybe the product owner gives it to you. You open the product up and consume it. You read the pdf, you watch the videos and you take some notes. Then you implement the strategy and you see what kind of results you get.

Then you write a review telling me about the product. What you like, what you think sucks, what is missing and so forth. You tell me who should buy this (ie: newbies, website owners, etc.) and who shouldn’t. Maybe you record a little video showing either what’s in the product or how you used it or both.

You send me an email with this info. Wow! Talk about doing me a service. Maybe I buy, maybe I don’t, but you have now earned my trust. I open your next email and your next email and the one after that. I read your REAL reviews (notice the word ‘real’) and the more I read, the more I trust you. Pretty soon I’m not buying anything unless YOU recommend it.

Congratulations – you have just risen above 99% of email marketers out there. You have earned my trust and my business and as long as you keep it up, I will continue to buy from your links.

But you know what? 99% of list owners who read this will never do it. They won’t actually USE the products they recommend. They won’t write HONEST reviews. They won’t record videos of the results they’ve achieved through using the product.

And in the long run, they won’t build the audience or make nearly the sales of the few marketers who take the time to do these things.
